Santa Monica Police Adopt Departmental Search Software

Will help with department investigations and operations.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- The Santa Monica Police Department wanted the ability to search police records more effectively, act on new information as it becomes available and connect it with internal and external databases to supplement investigative and intelligence leads. The Santa Monica Police Department and its 441 employees are responsible for the public safety of a 90,000 resident population and up to 250,000 visitors who come to Santa Monica each day for work or recreation.

The department has selected ISYS:desktop to enable departmental search capabilities across its Office of Criminal Investigations and Office of Operations. The department will also use the software to harvest information from its newly developing Graffiti Abatement System and share this information with other city departments.

The software provides the department with an easy-to-use search solution that enables users to quickly search, filter, navigate and share results. Crime analysts and department employees can search everything from various records databases to word-processing documents and e-mails. In addition, users can also use the company's Hit Highlighting and Hit-To-Hit Navigation features to quickly and easily locate the information most relevant to them.
