Westchester County's Virtual Archives presents public and private records online. The County Archives is a unit of the Department of Information Technology, and online collections are being developed with the Westchester County Historical Society. It is one of the few government-sponsored, online archives in the state.
Historical Treasures of Westchester will be posted in March, according to a recent article in the New York Times and will include a scanned copy of Washington Irving's will. Documents are scanned, put into electronic storage and backed up on a CD-ROM.
