Government Technology magazine is staff written and does not accept unsolicited submissions for publication. However, we do consider contributed content for publication on While a majority of our content is written in-house, you are welcome to send us an idea for an article or a completed article at any time. We will consider articles that are vendor neutral, focus on IT in state and local government, and are no more than 800 words in length. If there’s a topic you are interested in writing about that does not meet these standards, contact the managing editor to discuss your idea.

Submissions should be sent as a Word document and include a brief writer bio. We cannot guarantee that we will publish a contributed article or column.
