“We’ve reached a major milestone this week in signing up a million Virginians for the most convenient and cheapest way to receive decal and license renewal alerts,” DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb said in a press release. “With about 5.4 million licensed drivers, that’s almost one in five customers.”
Virginia drivers opt into electronic notifications by creating a myDMV account at dmvNOW.com/myDMV and can choose between notices sent via text message, phone message or email. Once logged on, users have access to DMV information that includes license and decal expiration dates as well as “safe driving” points.
