New York City uses analytics to help entrepreneurs open new businesses. A new Business Atlas, developed by the Mayor’s Office of Data Analytics and the city Department of Small Business Services, combines multiple data sets to provide sophisticated market research for potential employers.

Dr. Amen Ra Mashariki, chief analytics officer for the city, talks about developing the new service in this interview from Government Technology’s New York City Technology Forum.
