In a recent Government Technology survey, 60% of the respondents reported that their employees used mobile devices to improve their productivity. The digital universe is projected to expand to over 8 zettabytes by 2015, the equivalent of 18 million Libraries of Congress. Couple these facts with the proliferation of multiple types of mobile devices and it is no wonder that local governments feel overwhelmed by technology. The time may have come to consider moving from locally-managed to outsourced operations. But what advantages and disadvantages would such a move present?

Join Government Technology, Center for Digital Government, and Mecklenburg County, to hear how their Youth and Family Services agency was able to:

  •     Save $3.2 million and gained an extra 2 hours of productivity each day
  •     Use mobility to significantly improve productivity and provide better service to citizens
  •     Implement tablets and supportive applications and infrastructure
  •     Use cloud operations to increase resiliency and improve recovery
