In a recent Government Technology survey, 60% of the respondents reported that their employees used mobile devices to improve their productivity. The digital universe is projected to expand to over 8 zettabytes by 2015, the equivalent of 18 million Libraries of Congress. Couple these facts with the proliferation of multiple types of mobile devices and it is no wonder that local governments feel overwhelmed by technology.
