Municode Acquires Local Government Agenda and Meeting Software Company

Municode has a long history, including several recent acquisitions.

Municode, a long-standing developer of websites and other digital services for local government codes, has bought another company so it can start selling agenda management software to customers.

After acquiring AgendaPal, the company will offer its services under the name MunicodeMeetings. The cloud-based product includes several services for local government meetings, including agenda creation and approval, council voting, video streaming and an email notification system.

“It is designed to assist municipalities with the automation of their agenda approval process, reducing IT burden, and ensuring that non-technical staff can create and publish agendas and packets with a single click,” a blog post on the company’s website reads.

Municode, which has been in existence since 1951, has more than 4,500 clients in every state in the U.S., and is no stranger to corporate acquisitions. In 2014, it bought Colorado Code Publishing Company, and in 2016 it acquired the government website designer Aha! Consulting.

In the blog post, Municode President Eric Grant said the AgendaPal acquisition builds on those previous moves.

“Adding a meeting and agenda management platform connects our website design and codification services in new, meaningful, and innovative ways,” he said. “We can now provide our clients with an integrated system that brings everything together in one platform.”
