Access Idaho Launches Mobile Payment App

"Store-and-go” capability allows payment processing even outside cell or Wi-Fi coverage.

Idaho state, county and city governments can now use the "Idaho on the Go" app to take debit and credit card payments on any Android phone or tablet. An encryption-enabled card reader available as as add-on gives the app “store-and-go” capability. If the device is outside of a cellular or Wi-Fi coverage area, the transaction is securely stored until the device is connected, at which point the payment is processed.

According to an Access Idaho release, financial officials can use the tool to reconcile deposits and access real-time billing information. Reports on transactions can be obtained from Android devices or
any Internet-connected computer. All transaction data information is transmitted via a secure connection, and password-protected.

The OntheGo mobile service accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa using Access Idaho’s PCI-compliant payment processor, designed for government.
