A new brand is making its debut in the government technology world.

The new TD SYNNEX Public Sector combines three business units: DLT Solutions, Tech Data Public Sector Solutions and SYNNEX GOVSolv, according to a statement from Virginia-based parent organization TD SYNNEX.

The new business unit’s tasks will include fostering closer work between public agencies and tech providers; offering scalable and specialized “aggregator solutions” that range from channel enablement to marketing to engineering; and other forms of support.

This new brand comes as state and local governments — in many cases their hands forced by the pandemicpress harder with efforts to make their services more digital.

Meanwhile, gov tech firms are not only launching reorganizations and rebrands but changing their financial structure, achieving significant levels of investment and expanding internationally.

As all that happens, tech giants are upping their gov tech game.

“This announcement comes at a time when the U.S. public sector is under pressure to deliver transformational change in terms of complying with modernization, cybersecurity and customer experience directives, while facing significant supply chain issues,” said Reyna Thompson, senior vice president of public sector vendor management for TD SYNNEX Public Sector, in the statement. “The unprecedented combination of talent, resources, capabilities and global reach positions TD SYNNEX Public Sector as the catalyst to connect the entire U.S. public sector.”
