Vendors, bidders and suppliers that do business with the state of California will now be able to register online with the launch of Cal eProcure, California’s new online marketplace for businesses wishing to sell goods and services to the state.

The new website launched Dec. 9 is “designed to improve the experience of businesses selling products and services to the state of California” and replaces the previous system known as BidSync. The system will give users a one-stop shop for bidding and contracting resources.

A letter explaining how to register will be delivered to qualifying businesses via U.S. mail by Dec. 18, the state said. As of Dec. 9, all bidders can set up their registration, with Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SB/DVBE) firms that have already been preregistered in the system.

More features will be added in the forthcoming weeks, including the ability for state departments to post bids and solicitations. According to Cal eProcure’s website, “The public will be able to search for new bids on Cal eProcure and bidders will start receiving notification of new bids based on the profile they established in December.”

As a subsidiary program of FI$CAL, eProcure is the product of a partnership between the Department of Finance, the State Controller’s Office, the State Treasurer’s Office and the Department of General Services.

Online training to use the site is available now, with courses ranging from FI$CAL for Bidders and Suppliers, to Searching for Leveraged Procurement Agreements and Applying for Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Certification. All courses use the Oracle User Productivity Kit program.
