Eric Holdeman is a nationally known emergency manager. He has worked in emergency management at the federal, state and local government levels. Today he serves as the Director, Center for Regional Disaster Resilience (CRDR), which is part of the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER). The focus for his work there is engaging the public and private sectors to work collaboratively on issues of common interest, regionally and cross jurisdictionally.
He is a prolific writer authoring numerous articles for professional journals and opinion pieces for local, regional and national newspapers including the Washington Post. He is a contributing writer and Senior Fellow for Emergency Management Magazine. Additionally, he is a regular columnist for the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). An experienced and accomplished public speaker he is sought after to present at national and regional conferences. Eric has the United States’ most popular blog on the topics of emergency management and homeland security at www.disaster-zone.com and he has a Disaster Zone Podcast Additionally, he writes a monthly Emergency Management blog post for the Washington State based Municipal Research and Services Center (MRSC).
