Pay-As-You-Go Cloud Services Help Georgia Hold the Line on Spending

Georgia is in the process of implementing Microsoft Office 365, with plans to complete the migration of 40,000 users in May. The new hosted email platform continues Georgia’s shift to consumption-based services that allow users to pay only for the amount of service they use. Georgia Technology Authority Chief Operating Officer Dean Johnson told Government Technology at the NASCIO mid-year conference in Alexandria, Va., that the model is helping the authority hold the line on spending.
