Emergency Communications Coordination Working Group (ECCWG)

A Washington state effort to coordinate statewide.

Here in Washington state the Military Department is launching a new effort to get all parties associated with Emergency Support Function 2 meeting and coordinating — before a disaster. See this promotional event piece Washington Emergency Communications Coordination Working Group (WECCWG) Kickoff

This event is scheduled for Sept. 29. Note that registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast and the actual program will start at 8:30 a.m. A draft agenda agenda will be posted soon.

As noted in the announcement, FirstNet will also be part of the agenda. In that portion of the meeting, attendees will get an update on the status of the national effort to provide a digital network to first responders and others. And the expected timeline for 2017, that may see service being offered to those who want it by the end of next year.

There are more than 50 people already registered and I'm expecting more than 100 people to attend this event. It will bring users and service providers together for an important day of connecting and planning for the future.
