2019 Earth Ex Webinar

Note this opportunity to dial into the 2019 Earth Ex: Third Annual Emergency All-Sector Response Transnational Hazard Exercise.

Our Center for Regional Disaster Resilience recently held a day-long workshop on a Long-term Power Outage scenario that used a coronal mass ejection (CME) as the basis for such an outage. I've signed up to participate in the exercise below. Neil Clement shared the information with us.

EARTH EX 2019 Webinar

On June 27, 2019, the National Information Sharing Consortium (NISC) will host a webinar with the Electric Infrastructure Security (EIS) Council on the EARTH EX 2019 Exercise and how you and your organization can participate! EARTH EX 2019, scheduled for August 21, 2019, is an international, multi-sector, virtual exercise that will focus on processes and tools to support the response, restoration and community recovery from a long duration power outage - caused by one of the six Black Sky hazards. This regionally focused event will provide participants with a unique opportunity to examine response and restoration postures. EARTH EX 2019 makes over 38 exercise lanes available. EARTH EX 2019 utilizes NISC-developed tools providing a full cross-sector wraparound experience. The focus this year builds on situational awareness techniques to support decision making through multiple dynamic phases. EARTH EX 2016 is a one of a kind exercise opportunity.
