Almost 10K Deaths in a Month Is Good News

With an average of 330 deaths a day, we are still having 9,900 people a month die from COVID-19. That, evidently, is the good news.

I don’t know when COVID-19 will be declared endemic, but people are certainly treating it as such. We’ve had a spat of hot weather in the Pacific Northwest and those wearing their masks are few and far between.

Drug companies are actively developing a booster cocktail vaccine to address all the known variants that should be available in the fall. I’ll certainly sign up for my shot when those arrive at a drug store near me.

Has the “fat COVID lady” sung her last song? Will there be another variant that takes us back to the winter of 2021? All yet to be determined.
