In a rare moment of ____ the president has decided that "acting" for 503 days was quite enough and he will nominate Chad Wolf to be the Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
It is a small victory for the Government Accountability Office that called out that his "acting appointment" was not official.
My question is, will the Senate confirm him? They are not back for another full 2.5 weeks and they will have "other fish to fry" when they return. The further we go into the fall, it is possible that some Republican senators up for re-election might not be so easily swayed to vote to confirm if President Trump's poll numbers remain were they are, and the coronavirus continues unabated and perhaps even worsens.
One possible question, "Acting Secretary Wolf, what is your position on the use of a "heat gun" to repel migrants attempting to cross the boarder?"
