Here are some cybersecurity facts I gleaned from Government Technology magazine:

The number of days between first evidence of a compromise and detection in the USA was 75.5 days in 2017, compared with 99 days in 2016 [I guess you call that progress].

The estimated damage from cybercrime-related issues in 2004 was $3.5B. The estimate for damages in 2021 is expected to be $6 trillion.

According to Cisco, file formats from Microsoft software, namely Word, PowerPoint and Excel, are the most common malicious file extensions, representing 38% of the total. 

The United States is the No. 1 nation for ransomware detections.
