Disaster Zone Podcast: Sweet Home Alabama

An interview with Alabama’s emergency management director.

I hope to do an entire series of Disaster Zone podcast interviews with all 50 state emergency management directors. It could take a few years to get this done. By the time I hit all 50, I can likely start over, since the average tenure of emergency management directors is around three years. Or at least it was a few years back.

Here is this week’s podcast, “Sweet Home Alabama,” an interview with Brian Hastings, the director there.

I think you will find Brian engaging and innovative in how he is approaching emergency management at the state level.
Eric Holdeman is a contributing writer for Emergency Management magazine and is the former director of the King County, Wash., Office of Emergency Management.
