Escaping Vaccine Mandates

Let the games begin!

What are the ways that people will attempt to avoid having to get the vaccine that can save their lives and those of others who they come in contact with?

I can think of two primary ways.

  • Counterfeit vaccine cards/papers
  • Claiming a religious exemption

Let’s start with the counterfeit cards. How hard will that be? Likely a copy machine and some white out will set you up pretty.

Would that be considered forgery? Is it illegal? Would it be punishable in a court of law? Who would detect and enforce finding these forgeries? Plus, I’m betting people doing this will approach it much in the same way that they cheat on their income tax forms. If you can get away with it, why not? Why be a chump!

Lastly, on the vaccine cards that we have, we are the laughing stock of the world for the lack of a national standard that has some control measures associated with it. We are paper in a digital world. Exceptional!

Then there is the religious exemption that many will seek. I recall earlier this year there was a national survey that found that for the first time when people were asked about their religious affiliation, they claimed “none.” Some of those “nones” are all of a sudden finding religion in a way that a tent revival never could achieve.

I’m thinking that many who will seek the “religious exemption” will follow this route of individualism that dominates segments of our population.

From a New York Times article: “For many skeptics, resistance [to vaccines] tends to be based not on formal teachings from an established faith leader, but an ad hoc blend of online conspiracies and misinformation, conservative media and conversations with like-minded friends and family members.”

Sad!
