Governing Magazine Shutting Down Print Operations

It is a tough row to hoe these days — in print.

Governing magazine has always been a "go-to" source of information on state and local government issues. Unfortunately, they are going the way of many print publications. See this announcement that they made:

"Governing announced earlier this month that it will be ceasing publication this fall. September marks the final issue of the magazine, and we will be ramping down web production this fall. But we will continue to bring you the Governing Daily newsletter, filled with the latest headlines from states and cities across the country, through the end of the year."

What I appreciated was that news on issues other than federal is hard to follow. Thus — having a publication focused on these levels of government was helpful. I'm not sure there is another readily available source that will fill that gap in my search for good, current information.
