Job: Emergency Management Planner, Portland Area

That is — Portland, Ore.

This looks like a great position for someone who wants to be a planner: Emergency Management Planner.

Putting things in perspective, when I moved from Washington State Emergency Management Division to become the director of Emergency Management for King County (1996), my salary was $60K. Now that position likely runs up close to $140-150K (on the high side).

Eric Holdeman is a contributing writer for Emergency Management magazine and is the former director of the King County, Wash., Office of Emergency Management.
