John Kelly Gone from DHS

I don't see how it is good for DHS

Every organization rises and falls on leadership. That was the one factor that I had hope for with Gen. John Kelly (Ret.) at the helm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Finally, we had someone who had leadership training and his entire career as a leader.

There will be another name and face appointed. Perhaps he or she will be really good, but I have been enamored with John Kelly. Why he took the White House chief of staff job, only he knows? Maybe to bring some sanity to the party being held there that has appeared to be pretty dysfunctional from where I sit in what we call "The Other Washington.

Yesterday I gave my daughter another rock. Over the years I've added to her collection with rocks engraved with different words. Yesterday's rock had the word "Change" on it. Thus, all of us need to deal with that word and the impact to us, DHS and the nation.
