More Water Restrictions Are Coming in the West

When will action really be taken?

As Americans we are reluctant to take action to protect people and property — until we have a crisis. Even then, people and organizations are reluctant to act. People are afraid of the heat that they are going to take from people who are being impacted by actions like water restrictions.

Here’s the latest on the Colorado River. Trust me, the federal government will need to step in and mandate cuts in the future. Some states will not have the intestinal fortitude to mandate cuts on their own. They will look to pass the buck to the feds and sidestep their own responsibility.

A continent away, commercial boat traffic that carries many critical supplies is being limited on the Rhine River in Europe.
