What she is being remembered as is a wonderful person, a receptionist and administrative assistant at the King County Office of Emergency Management (OEM). She served there when I was the director of OEM.
What Mary Ann had was a servant's heart. Her goal was to help people with whatever they needed to be successful once they entered the building. No task was too small, and her efforts were always done with a smile and a gracious manner.
We should all have the characteristics that Mary Ann exhibited in all that we do. In the bigger world she played a small part, and for those who knew her, she holds a special place in our memories.
Godspeed Mary Ann. Maybe St. Peter needs a receptionist at the Pearly Gates!
