Testimony by DHS Acting Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli

FYI, the border with Mexico is 1,954 miles long.

Note: there are 330 miles of "big beautiful wall" that have been constructed in the last four years. That is .16 of its total length. Promises kept!

I digress, here is this mostly political statement, "Opening Statement As Prepared For Delivery By Acting Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli For Senate Hearing On Threats To The Homeland."

I will agree with the need for counter-drone authorization legislation in order to protect our critical infrastructure.

In this election season, I think it would be good to talk about what the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is doing to counter foreign influences in our elections coming from Russia. After all, the election system is critical infrastructure, a DHS mission area, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is part of DHS and has the cybersecurity mission. Nary a word on that topic.
