What Is Happening in China on Emergency Preparedness?

It is a “ happy story” but could also be written here in the USA.

This story could have been written about any major river system in the United States. But, this one is about China: “Yangtze River emergency response capability refined.”

I was struck by the similarities for what a story like the one above could have to any state, anywhere with an article about improved disaster preparedness and enhanced coordination, all because of a significant threat coming from disasters. The only “benefit” of being in China is that I expect they don’t have the plethora of agencies and egos to deal with that come from having a river flowing through multiple jurisdictions.
