Cities face issues ranging from aging infrastructure, natural disasters and emergency management to ransomware attacks and employee recruitment and retention — often while dealing with financial difficulties due to a reliance upon tourism and sales taxes revenue.

Clay Pearson, a tech- and innovation-focused city manager with decades of experience, joined Dustin Haisler and Joe Morris on this episode of ICYMI to discuss pandemic-related challenges, the need to involve IT departments in the strategy process, the value of good communication and how local governments can do a better job bringing in "free agency" labor and experts for crucial projects to ensure the right mix of people and skills.
