The Center for Digital Government and Government Technology’s Best of the Web competition recognizes 30 public-sector portals for their work to engage citizens online while also providing them with cutting-edge Web services. The 2016 winners represent the diversity found in government portals and show that the future continues to be streamlined, search-centric design. However, as site design follows the trend of less is more, back-end processes are becoming increasingly complex and data-driven.
