The Center for Digital Government conducted a survey of state and local government IT leaders in mid-2020 to identify their Wide Area Network connectivity challenges and priorities during the pandemic and for the future. This paper presents the critical needs identified in that survey and how Ciena’s Adaptive Network vision, and the hardware and software that form its foundation, can address many government plans for cost-effective, long-term network improvement.
