More Funding for Remix and Soofa Funding activity in the gov tech startup space is heating up at the moment, with Remix and the company behind Soofa both closing on capital rounds in the past week. Remix, a transit planning platform with a fast customer growth rate, won $10 million in a Series A round, while the solar-powered bench and digital display maker Changing Environments nailed down a $2.5 million seed round for Soofa.

CIOs Talk Cloud, Procurement At the mid-year NASCIO conference, chief information officers from two states talked about their direction with Gov Tech. Montana CIO Ron Baldwin discussed the timeline for the state moving from mainframe to cloud, while Washington CIO Michael Cockrill shared information about his state's push for procurement reform.
