After the departure of CIO Jerry Driessen, the Hennepin County, Minn., Board of Commissioners chooses new CIO Glen Gilbertson, who has more than 23 years of experience working within the county.
The Hennepin County, Minn., Board of Commissioners appointed Glen Gilbertson as the county’s new chief information officer.
Gilbertson succeeds Jerry Driessen, who served as CIO for about four years before his departure to the city of San Jose, Calif., where he became assistant CIO in March. According to a board action request, Gilbertson was officially appointed to that role himself on March 31.
“As the acting CIO, Mr. Gilbertson has demonstrated his ability to lead and seamlessly stabilize the IT department,” the request states. “In his 23 plus years with Hennepin County, Mr. Gilbertson has demonstrated positive leadership skills, uncompromising integrity and extensive knowledge to position him well as the new Chief Information Officer.”
