"Has not yet defined an overall approach for integrating its various privacy-related initiatives and addressing key privacy principles, nor has it defined milestones for integrating the results of these activities."

The Government Accountability Office today released a report, that says while various efforts are under way to address privacy and security of a nationwide health information exchange, HHS is in the early stages and "has not yet defined an overall approach for integrating its various privacy-related initiatives and addressing key privacy principles, nor has it defined milestones for integrating the results of these activities."
