Brief: New Mexico Announces Court System Smartphone App

The Santa Fe Administrative Office of the Courts launched a new smartphone app to assist in looking up court cases. The new app summarizes information for civil and criminal cases.

(TNS) — The Administrative Office of the Courts has introduced a smartphone app for New Mexico court case lookup.

The app will display summary information for both civil and criminal cases, including scheduled hearings, attorneys and judges, a register of case actions and the charges and dispositions. The app will search district, magistrate and metropolitan courts, as well as the New Mexico Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

“New Mexico Courts are committed to using innovative technology, like this software program, to improve public access to information about the judicial system,” said Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael E. Vigil.

The judiciary has long allowed online access through nmcourts.gov, but the app provides another avenue along with app-specific features like a viewing history and enhanced searching capability.

The New Mexico Courts Case Lookup app is available on both Apple and Android platforms, according to a news release from the courts.
