The channel first reported via Twitter that it was having technical difficulties early in the morning. A few hours later, it followed up with another tweet confirming that it had been hit with “a malicious software attack on the network.” The channel reportedly used “backup mechanisms” to resolve the issue.
Federal law enforcement is currently investigating the incident, and what the hackers wanted out of the attack remains unclear.
