Do you want to know exactly how many photos of your dog you’ve added? Or who has caught you on camera starting the dancing at a wedding? Facebook is getting even better at finding out.

While images on Facebook have always been searchable by text through captions or tags, the social networking giant has added artificial intelligence (AI) that can recognize images within the photos themselves. For example, you can search for “kids on swings” or “pictures of food,” and the newly updated search engine will show you photos your friends have uploaded that match that description. The AI tools were originally developed to help visually impaired users better navigate the site, but now all users can take advantage of the tech to better help make more targeted image searches. Some reports say that Facebook will eventually apply the new search to videos.
