Black Friday could soon be competing with Cyber Monday for the title of biggest online shopping day of the year. The numbers are in, and Black Friday 2022 set new records for online shopping.

According to Adobe, shoppers spent $9.12 billion online on Friday. That’s a 2.3 percent increase over 2021. Additionally, nearly half of those purchases were made on a smartphone at 48 percent, breaking another record by topping last year’s 44 percent. Toys, electronics and exercise equipment topped the list of what people actually bought.

As for Cyber Monday, Adobe was expecting spending to reach $11.2 billion this year, a 5.1 percent increase over last year.
