How much did people spend on their pets last holiday season?

Answer: $183 per person, on average.

PetChatz is hoping to cash in on that action this year with its new product, the PetChatz HDX. It’s a smart home security camera with a bunch of bells and whistles that make it easy, and fun, to keep an eye on your pets instead of doing other things at work.

Curious what Fido is getting up to while you’re away? You can use your smartphone to view the camera’s live feed. Want to give your pet some treats? You can use your phone to do that too. And if your four-legged companion wants to turn the tables and check in on you for a change? They can do that too with just the press of a button, launching a two-way video call.

The camera itself has a wide-angle lens, low-light capability, and Wi-Fi connectivity. It streams 1080p video and comes with no monthly fees. The device can be mounted on a wall or on a special stand.
