How can you get discounts and free rides on Bird scooters?

Answer: By taking a helmet selfie.

Bird is turning to the Internet masses’ love of selfies to encourage rider safety. Following a successful pilot in Washington, D.C., the e-scooter provider will be rolling out its “Helmet Selfie” rewards to cities around the world where its devices operate.

The program is relatively simple. Just wear a helmet while riding the scooter — which, let’s be honest, is something you should be doing anyway — and then snap a selfie at the end of your trip. Just send that photo off to Bird, and you’ll be rewarded with things like free credits for future rides. Bird has not yet revealed the exact details of what these incentives will look like.

Cities that would like to explore bringing Helmet Selfie to their area can email Bird at city@bird.co.
