Where did the first-ever “Space Olympics” take place?

Answer: The International Space Station.

Olympics
Just when you thought the Olympics were over, the crew aboard the International Space Station (ISS) entered the competition. On Tuesday the European Space Agency, which has astronaut Thomas Pesquet aboard the ISS, posted a video of the first-ever Space Olympics.

The seven astronauts and cosmonauts on board divided into two teams — Team Dragon, with Pesquet, NASA’s Megan McArthur and Shane Kimbrough, and JAXA’s Akihiko Hoshide; and Team Soyuz, with NASA’s Mark Vande Hei and Roscosmos’ Oleg Novitskiy and Pyotr Dubrov. The competitions took place on an afternoon the crew had off during the earth-bound Olympic Games.

The events included lack-of-floor routine, no-handball, synchronized space swimming and weightless sharpshooting. As for who won, you’ll have to watch and decide for yourself.
