California Treasurer Opens Board Meetings to Public

Citizens can now call in and ask questions during meetings of the principal boards, commissions and authorities under the state Treasurer’s Office.

California State Treasurer John Chiang announced Wednesday that the public now can call in and ask questions during meetings of the principal boards, commissions and authorities under the State Treasurer’s Office.

The units fund key state programs, such as affordable housing, alternative energy, pollution control, health facilities and others.

“I’ve long believed in the great value of government openness; I’m pleased to expand it with this new service,” Chiang said.
