The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will begin their automated work zone speed enforcement program.
Vehicle-mounted systems will be deployed at work zones to automatically monitor the speeds of cars and trucks driving through these zones.
The pre-enforcement period has begun and will last until March 4. During that time, violations will not be issued.
Once enforcement starts, the registered owner of the vehicle will receive a warning letter for the first offense, followed by fines of $75 and $150 for the second and third offenses. No points will be assessed to driver's licenses.
Work sites with automated speed zone enforcement will be marked with signage and will be posted on the website https://workzonecameras.penndot.gov.
