City, County and State governments have thousands of field workers, ranging from police officers to building inspectors to street maintenance crews.   Most of these workers now use mobile phones and, increasingly, tablet computers, to stay in constant communication. But most such workers carry two or three different devices with two or three phone numbers and service contracts.  They may carry a personal smart phone, a government-issued cell phone and a computer with wireless. And they usually have a desk phone back in the office!

Learn about solutions which connect desk telephone networks and existing smart phones, giving the mobile device features such as four or five digit dialing internal to the enterprise, call transfer and access to the internal directory. Other capabilities include using the desk phone number only, thereby protecting the personal mobile number, and using free Wi-Fi networks for phone calls, rather than cell network minutes.
