The city of Albuquerque, N.M., is looking to hire a new director of the Department of Technology and Innovation (DTI) to take over for Brian Osterloh, who will be retiring at the end of March.

Osterloh has been with the city for 19 years, and was appointed by Mayor Tim Keller to the position in 2018.

“Under Director Osterloh’s leadership, the department set a new standard for the way the city uses technology to improve safety, security and quality of life for everyone in Albuquerque,” said Keller in the announcement.

During his time with the city, he led the department through many technology initiatives, including the creation of the city’s 311 Community Contact Center, the launch of Albuquerque Smart Cities initiatives and the creation of the Broadband Office. Throughout his work, he focused on the value of data-driven decision-making.

In the time leading up to his departure, Osterloh will help prepare DTI for the transition to ensure the security and continuity of operations. The ideal candidate will bring management experience in information systems to continue to build on Osterloh's work.
