Bobo is no stranger to Milwaukee County IT. Prior to assuming the CIO post this month, Bobo spent over three years as the county’s IT director of business applications and two years as its IT manager for applications, according to her LinkedIn.
Her work will include revising the city’s job postings to remove unnecessary requirements, making the positions accessible to a wider pool of candidates, per Milwaukee County. Bobo will also work to ensure IT employees have the Wi-Fi and equipment they need to continue working remotely.
Former Milwaukee County CIO Lynn Fyhrlund, meanwhile, said in a recent LinkedIn post that he has taken a position as the CIO of San Bernardino County, Calif., which is near Los Angeles. Fyhrlund foreshadowed the move last month, posting that his last day with Milwaukee would be May 5.
“Some of you may have seen that Milwaukee County posted my position. That is because I took a new opportunity with San Bernardino County, Calif., as their Chief Information Officer. I am moving to Southern California!” Fyrhlund wrote. “I have enjoyed my time at Milwaukee County and look forward to new challenges.”
