Jason Hebbe has been named chief technology officer for the commonwealth of Pennsylvania within the Office of Administration. His first day was May 29, according to agency spokesman Dan Egan.

This follows the departure of former CTO Sean Crager, who made the decision to leave the role after accepting a position in the private sector. Crager’s final day on the job was May 28, Egan noted.

Hebbe worked directly under Crager and was the logical choice to take over the position, Egan added.

Hebbe has worked for the commonwealth for more than nine years, most recently as the chief operating officer, according to his LinkedIn account. In this role, he supported the CTO’s strategy by providing direction on information technology services as well as technology oversight.

Prior to his time working in state government, he spent more than 15 years in the private sector, holding multiple positions across several industries, including banking, manufacturing and logistics.

According to the commonwealth’s website, Hebbe has completed studies in leadership, finance and project management, in addition to receiving multiple technology certifications.
