Georgia to Consolidate, Outsource IT Operations

June 27, 2008 By

Georgia will be consolidating IT infrastructure and moving both infrastructure and telecommunications delivery to external service providers, according to a notice posted on the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) Web site, titled: State Technology Transformation (GAIT 2010)

In addition, GTA is creating a Service Management Organization to oversee technology providers and ensure the quality of services.

According to the posting, GTA has received RFP responses for Infrastructure Services and Managed Network Services, and those RFPs are under evaluation, with contract negotiations set for September or October, contract signing later in the year, and transition to external service providers to occur from November 2008 to March of next year.
