Teri Takai Confirmed as California CIO

According to a spokesperson for the California Senate Rules Committee the committee voted today to confirm Teri Takai as California CIO.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the appointment last Dec. 6, saying the state needed to expand its information technology infrastructure to meet future needs. "Teri is the perfect person to do that," said Schwarzenegger. "She has over 30 years of experience in this field and possesses the vision necessary to make our great state a leader in the effective use of information technology."

Wayne E. Hanson served as a writer and editor with e.Republic from 1989 to 2013, having worked for several business units including Government Technology magazine, the Center for Digital Government, Governing, and Digital Communities.
