A group of information technology workers at New York State’s Division of Housing and Community Renewal are rumored to be the winners of the $319 million Mega Millions jackpot drawing on Friday, March 25.

Although no one from the group has stepped up to claim the winning ticket yet, Emanuel Biondi, public employees federation council leader for New York's Division of Housing and Community Renewal, told CNN the winners were seven IT professionals at the agency.

The winning ticket was purchased at Coulson's News Center, a convenience store in Albany, N.Y. The winning digits were 22-24-31-52-54, with Megaball number 4, and the jackpot is the sixth-highest in the Mega Millions game’s history. The largest win was $390 million in March 2007.

But government workers shouldn’t count on a lottery jackpot to supplement their pension. The odds of a big Mega Millions win are extremely low, as shown in this Incredibly Depressing Mega Millions Lottery Simulator.

Good luck!
