For the low, low price of just 25 cents Canadian, visitors to several establishments in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside can buy a clean crack pipe. The machines were installed as part of a program launched by the Portal Hotel Society's Drug Users Resource Center aimed at curbing the spread of HIV/AIDS. The program is not surprising given the city's adoption of free heroin clinics that provide visitors with free heroin and a safe and clean environment to enjoy the high.
