The Minnesota Licensing and Registration System (MNLARS) will be developed for the state's Driver and Vehicle Services Division (DVS) by HP. Using 6.4 million vehicle records and 4.1 million driver history records, MNLARS will standardize processes and increase accuracy and efficiency. The new system, which will provide “near real-time access to verified data,” will be shared by 40,000 users that include DVS business partners, law enforcement, court systems and federal agencies, according to a press release.
“This agency is part of the foundation of Minnesota’s economy — when vehicles move, so do products and services,” said Marilyn Crouther, senior vice president and general manager of U.S. Public Sector for HP Enterprise Services. “To build MNLARS, we will combine our government expertise with proven technology to develop the comprehensive solution that will take the state of Minnesota into the future.”
HP has provided similar systems integration support for DMV projects in 22 states.
